Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri has been a popular Indian actress, who gained notoriety for her roles in Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. The actress began her career in the 80s before coming to popularity with her role in Tezaab, a film where she starred alongside the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared alongside her. Her birthplace was in a Mumbai middle class family and began dancing at a young age. When she was young, she started acting but was not successful as a lot of her movies were unsuccessful. She eventually found success and went on to become one of the leading actors in the Indian film business. The actress took a hiatus from her career after her wedding before returning to the entertainment industry. She played a major role on Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit has been nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards. Of these, she has won 8. The actress was also honoured with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. She has also been recognized by the field of social work.
